Former Super Eagles of Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo and other African legends Mustapha Hadji, Serge Aurier and Aliou Cisse will be assistants at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final draw, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced.
The AFCON 2025 draw will take place at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat on Monday evening.
According to CAF, Yobo, who captained the Super Eagles to win the 2013 AFCON in South Africa, Moroccan Hadji, Senegalese Cisse, and Ivorian Aurier will not only pull the balls from the pots, but also be on hand to offer their insights into the groups for the tournament.
The tournament will be played in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
This would be the second time Morocco will host the AFCON after first doing so in 1988.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles are one of the 24 teams that will be in Morocco for the tournament.
The three-time AFCON winners are in Pot 1 alongside Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal.
At the AFCON 2023 edition the Eagles reached the final and lost 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
