Ugarte, Sterling, Sancho: Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea complete deadline day moves
Friday was a busy transfer deadline day for several clubs in England, including the heavyweights like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Manchester United signed their fifth player of the summer window with the £50m acquisition of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.
Uruguay midfielder Ugarte, 23, joins Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui as United’s new arrivals.
Arsenal sealed the loan signing of Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling, making the England forward their third signing of the window, along with Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.
Chelsea failed in their pursuit of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen but were able to add Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United in an extraordinary window.
The Blue brought in 13 players, including Pedro Neto (Wolves), Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Leicester), Estevao Willian (Palmeiras), Omari Kellyman (Aston Villa), Mike Penders (Genk), Marc Guiu (Barcelona) and Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham).
Liverpool had a quiet window overall but added Italy international Federico Chiesa, although not on deadline day.
There were deadline day outgoings for the big clubs too, with Scott McTominay leaving his childhood club Manchester United for Napoli, and Chelsea outcasts Trevor Chalobah and Amando Broja joining Crystal Palace and Everton respectively.
Arsenal shipped out Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace and Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton.
