Manchester United threw away a two-goal lead before rescuing a 3-3 draw against Porto in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, with Samuel Omorodion, the Spanish youth international with Nigerian heritage, scoring twice for the Portuguese side.

United raced to a two-goal lead in the first-half through Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund, but Pepe halved the deficit before Omorodion equalised 11 minutes before half time.

The 20-year-old Spain U-21 striker completed his brace in the 50th minute to put Porto into the lead for the first time in the game.

It went from bad to worse for the English side nine minutes from time when captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for his second yellow card of the night.

Substitute Harry Maguire headed home in the 91st minute to ensure the visitors earn their second draw in two games in the new format of the competition.

Galatasaray played for the first time in five matches in all competitions without Victor Osimhen and could only manage a 2-2 draw with RFS in Latvia. Dries Mertens and Yunus Akgun put the Turkish champions into a 2-0 lead in the first half but goals from Janis Ikaunieks and Lasha Odisharia meant both sides shared the spoils.
