Samuel Chukwueze was in action for AC Milan who lost 1-0 at Feyenoord in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-offs tie on Wednesday night.
The Super Eagles winger came on in the 60th minute but could not affect the outcome of the match.
It was Chukwueze’s sixth appearance in the Champions League this season, the fifth as a substitute, with one assist.
Igor Paixao scored the only goal of the game just three minutes into the encounter.
Seven-time Champions League winners Milan would hope to turn things around when they host Feyenoord in the second leg at the San Siro next Tuesday.
In Belgium, another Super Eagles star Raphael Onyedika helped Club Brugge overcome Atalanta 2-1.
Onyedika played another full game for Brugge while Ademola Lookman did not feature for Atalanta due to injury.
The Nigeria midfielder has played eight times in the Champions League for Brugge this term, all of them from the start.
The contest was heading for a 1-1 draw before substitute Gustaf Nilsson scored a 94th minute penalty after a spot kick was controversially awarded to the Belgians.
Ferran Jutgla had given Club Brugge the lead in the 15th minute but Mario Pasalic equalised for the Italian side four minutes before the end of the first half.
In the other play-off matches, Bayern Munich beat Celtic 2-1 in Scotland and Benfica recorded a 1-0 win against AS Monaco.
