The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will begin their quest at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with a fixture against the Young Pharaohs of Egypt on April 30, at the 20,000-capacity Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, Cote d’Ivoire.
The encounter is billed to kick off at 5pm Ivorian time (6pm Nigerian time), the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed on Sunday.
The Flying Eagles will next take on Morocco’s Young Atlas Lions at the same venue, starting at 8pm local time (9pm Nigerian time) on May 3.
Seven-time champions Nigeria, who qualified for the tournament following a successful defence of their WAFU B U-20 Championship title in Lome in October, will then wrap up their Group B campaign against South Africa, also in Korhogo on May 6, starting from 5pm local time (6pm Nigerian time).
The Flying Eagles, quarter-finalists at the last edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina in 2023, are currently camping in Katsina, courtesy of the State Government, in the first phase of their final preparations for the continental championship, the NFF added.
A semi-final spot at the U-20 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire will guarantee the Flying Eagles a ticket to this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, scheduled for September 27 to October 19.
