Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has light-heartedly disagreed with EA Sports rating of his passing ability.
Boniface scored 21 goals and registered 10 assists in all competitons for Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen last season, when they won the league title for the first time in their history and reached the UEFA Europa League final.
In a video posted to Leverkusen’s official Facebook page on Thursday, the Nigeria international was dissatisfied after he was shown his ratings by EA Sports by teammates, Jeremie Frimpong and Edmond Tabsoba.
“Don’t even open it. 82 for my physicality? For me, they don’t rate me,” Boniface said, apparently not seriously.
“Who rated this card? How could they give me 66 passing when I have almost 10 assists? Even with no-loook passes? No, no!”
EA Sports ratings of footballers’ attributes are released periodically and players tend to tease each other about it.
Boniface, who won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award last term, is yet to open his goal account for the 2024/2025 campaign. He has featured in two league matches and the German Super Cup.
The 24-year-old started ahead of Victor Osimhen in Nigeria’s 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, on September 7 and 10 respectively.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise star is still searching for his first goal in a competitive appearance for Nigeria.
His only goal in the colours of the senior national team so far was in the 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia in an international friendly last October.
