Ahmed Musa has promised to deliver more goals for Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season after his scoring twice to help the club to a 2-0 victory over Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
Musa began his third stint at the club with a brace on matchday 5 of the 2024/2025 NPFL campaign after another return. He was close to bagging a hat-trick but his penalty hit the post. His outstanding performance ended Kano Pillars’ back-to-back defeats in the league.
“Back in familiar colours, and it feels so good! Grateful to the entire backroom staff, my team mates, management of Kano Pillars FC for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to return. To the amazing supporters and everyone who came out to watch, thank you for the love and energy!” Musa wrote on social media.
“Scoring two goals and earning that penalty was just the start – we’ve got a lot more coming! This is only the beginning.”
The 31-year-old became a free agent in the summer after Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor decided not to renew his contract. Musa had previously played for Kano Pillars in the 2009/2010 season and in 2021 respectively.
The win takes Kano Pillars up to seventh in the NPFL table. The Sai Masu Gida will next face Akwa United in Uyo on October 13.
