Players and officials of the Super Eagles have arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom ahead of Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
The Warriors of Zimbabwe are also in the Akwa Ibom State capital for the fixture, having flown in from South Africa, where they were held to a 2-2 draw by Benin Repubic on Friday.
Both delegations arrived at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo on Saturday, with Zimbabwe connecting from Lagos, where they had first landed.
The Super Eagles will lodge at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ikpene, about 30 kilometres from Uyo, as they prepare to host the Warriors who are bottom of African qualifying Group C.
A brace from Victor Osimhen secured a 2-0 win for the Super Eagles against Rwanda in Kigali on Friday as they got their qualifying campaign back on track.
The win took Eric Chelle’s side to fourth place in the group on six points, four adrift of leaders South Africa.
Tuesday’s encounter is the second leg between the Super Eagles and Zimbabwe in the qualifiers.
The first leg in November 2023, played in Rwanda because of inadequate facilities in Zimbabwe, ended in a 1-1 draw.
