Spartak Prague striker Victor Olatunji says he is anticipating an invitation to the Super Eagles.
Olatunji, who joined Spartak Prague in 2023, grabbed the headlines recently when he became the first Nigerian and only third African to score and assist on his UEFA Champions League debut, in his side’s 3-0 win over FC Salzburg on September 18.
“It is a big goal for any young player, especially for us Nigerians. We are proud to play for our country. Just wearing a green jersey and an eagle emblem will give a player motivation,” he said in an interview with Blesk.
“He will realize that he represents a country of more than 220 million people. And that makes him work with all his heart.”
The 25-year-old has scored six goals and registered two assists in 15 matches for his club this season.
At the moment, the centre forward position in the senior national team is highly competitive, with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Taiwo Awoniyi, Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Cyriel Dessers all available.
