Victor Osimhen is close to completing a loan move to Galatasaray, reports in Italy have claimed.
The Super Eagles striker had been left in limbo after he and Napoli failed to finalise a switch to either Chelsea or Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli on Friday night, the deadline day for transfers in most European countries.
However, the Turkish window is still open until Monday night, and Osimhen is about to make a switch to the biggest club in the country.
According to Italian and European transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports for Sky Italy, Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Napoli for a one-year loan deal for Osimhen.
The report adds that Osimhen has also consented to the deal, with only his mandatory medical and final details remaining to be sorted out.
In the terms of the agreement, Galatasaray will pay Osimhen’s current wages in full, believed to be around €10m a year, until June 2025.
After Friday night’s drama, when Napoli turned down Al Ahli and Osimhen rejected Chelsea’s offer of a significant wage cut, the 25-year-old Nigeria international was frozen out by Napoli and taken out of their squad for the season.
