Juventus are willing to pay a fee surpassing the release clause in Victor Osimhen’s contract with Napoli in a bid to beat off competition for the Super Eagles striker, according to reports.
The Nigeria international is currently on a successful loan spell at Galatasaray, where he has registered 33 goals and eight assists in 37 appearances across all competitions as the club chase the Turkish double.
Osimhen is expected to be sold by Napoli once he returns from his loan spell in Istanbul and several clubs have been linked with the prolific 26-year-old.
Juventus have been persistently mentioned as suitors as they seek to move on Dusan Vlahovic in the summer and rebuild their attack.
Osimhen has a €75m release clause in his contract which is only valid for teams outside of Italy.
As Juventus are unable to activate Osimhen’s release clause, they are prepared to invest €85m in a transfer fee and bonuses in order to persuade Napoli to sell him to them, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport.
With no release clause for Italian clubs, it will still be up to Napoli to decide whether or not to accept the offer from their rivals.
Reports on Friday also suggested that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are prepared to meet Osimhen’s release clause and offer him over €30m per season in wages.
