Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was once again the hero for Galatasaray on Friday, scoring his first hat-trick for the club as the Turkish Super Lig leaders thrashed Antalyaspor 4-0 in Istanbul.
Osimhen struck twice in the first half and added another goal after the break as Galatasaray stretched their lead to 10 points over second-placed Fenerbahce, who have two games in hand.
The Nigeria international broke the deadlock in the 30th minute and was on target again in first-half added time, moments after former Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata converted a penalty.
Osimhen added some gloss to the score and completed his hat-trick seven minutes into the second half as Galatasaray claimed back-to-back victories.
With the treble, the 2023 African Player of the Year took his Turkish Super Lig tally to an impressive 20 goals and four assists in 22 appearances.
Overall, Osimhen has registered 26 goals and five assists in 30 matches for Galatasaray since joining them on loan from Napoli in the summer.
The 26-year-old will look to take the form into next week’s international break as he leads the Super Eagles attack in key 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda on Friday and Zimbabwe four days later.
