Greek club Olympiacos have announced the signing of Super Eagles left-back Bruno Onyemaechi from Portugal’s Boavista.
“Olympiacos FC announces the signing of Nigerian international left-back Bruno Onyemaechi,” Olympiacos stated on Monday.
“Born on April 3, 1999, in Owerri, Nigeria, the 25-year-old player joins from Portuguese club Boavista, where he made 77 appearances, scored five goals, and provided three assists.
“This season, he has played in 18 matches, contributing three goals and one assist.
“In the past, the international defender also played for Feirense (31 appearances) and Vila Real.
“He is an active member of the Nigerian national team, having earned 11 caps.
“Bruno, welcome to Olympiacos!”
According to local reports, Onyemaechi signed a four-year deal believed to be worth €2.5 million.
Founded on 10 March 1925, Olympiacos are the most successful club in Greek football history.
The club have won 47 league titles, 28 Cups (18 doubles), four Super Cups, all records, and are the current champions of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
