Remo Stars came from 1-0 down to defeat Akwa United 2-1 in Uyo on Sunday in the the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Hosts Akwa United took the lead in the sixth minute through Uche Sabastine in the matchday 20 fixture but Arinze Anakwe equalised for Remo Stars before Olamilekan Adedayo struck the winner five minutes from time.
Remo Stars not only retained top spot with the away victory, they extended their lead over second-placed Rivers United to five points.
In the two other fixtures on Sunday, Plateau United defeated Finidi George’s Rivers United 2-1 while Heartland edged out Lobi Stars 1-0.
The match between Kano Pillars and El Kanemi Warriors was postponed.
On Saturday, Nasarawa beat Katsina United 1-0, Enugu Rangers lost 2-1 at home to Niger Tornadoes, Sunshine Stars pipped Ikorodu United 4-3, while Abia Warriors defeated Bayelsa United 1-0.
