Katsina United edged out Heartland 1-0 in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 23 fixture in Katsina on Friday.
Muhammed Ibrahim scored the only goal of the encounter in the 73rd minute to earn his side the three points.
The defeat put an end Heartland’s four-match unbeaten run (two wins, two draws).
It is a return to winning ways for Katsina United who went into the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Bendel Insurance.
The win means Katsina United are now in 13th in the NPFL table while Heartland are 11th, two points better off.
Matchday 23 will continue on Saturday with El Kanemi Warriors hosting Nasarawa United, Remo Stars welcoming Kano Pillars and Bendel Insurance visiting Shooting Stars.
On Sunday it will be Niger Tornadoes against Plateau United and five other fixtures.
Remo Stars are on top of the league, followed by Shooting Stars and Rivers United.
