Enyimba defeated Lobi Stars 2-1 in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash on Wednesday, days after advancing to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The People’s Elephant played their continental game in Uyo last weekend but returned to the Enyimba Stadium in Aba for the league fixture.
Ufere Chinedu put Enyimba in front after 13 minutes on Wednesday, and Eze Ekwutoziam doubled their lead from the spot two minutes later.
Adebayo Waheed pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 36th minute, and neither side could further find the back of the net throughout the second 45 minutes.
Enyimba moved up to fourth in the NPFL table with the win and have a game in hand, while winless Lobi Stars are 17th.
Also on Wednesday, Enugu Rangers bounced back from their CAF Champions League disappointment in their rearranged fixture against Ikorodu City in Lagos.
The Flying Antelopes recorded a 1-0 win, following their elimination from the elite club competition on the continent.
Chinemerem Ugwueze’s goal in the 25th minute gave the champions all the three points at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, earning them four points from two matches.
Ikorodu City are without a win in three matches, and currently occupy the bottom spot in the table with one point.
