The Executive Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has asked players of Bendel Insurance to put behind them the disappointment of the 1-0 defeat to Shooting Stars on Saturday in Ibadan and focus on beating Enyimba of Aba in Wednesday’s rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash.
The EDSC boss gave the charge on Sunday while reacting to the defeat, encouraging the Insurance players to see themselves as true professionals and shrug off the Ibadan disappointment.
Enabulele in his message to the team encouraged the boys to direct all their energy and 100 percent concentration to the match against the People’s Elephant on Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
“Though I was confident that we were going to run away with a point in Ibadan, now that it didn’t happen that way let us now focus on the game for Wednesday,” he said.
“We should recover from our loss with a comfortable home victory over Enyimba.”
The Benin Arsenals defeated the Oluyole Warriors by the same goal margin in their first round meeting in Benin.
After the Enyimba match, which kicks off at 4pm on Wednesday, Bendel Insurance will still be at home on Saturday to host Niger Tornadoes in their matchday 24 fixture.
Bendel Insurance are now 16th in the NPFL table with 25 points after 22 matches.
