Super Eagles stars Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi have returned to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Kano Pillars.
Musa and Abdullahi have been spotted training with Kano Pillars, donning the team’s all-green training kit ahead of the Matchday 5 clash in the NPFL against Sunshine Stars at home on Sunday.
“Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, Nazir Laja, and the rest of the squad trained ahead of the NPFL 2024/25 Matchday 5 clash against Sunshine Stars this weekend,” the club wrote on X on Friday.
It will be Musa’s third stint at the club. He previously featured for the Kano-based outfit in the 2009/2010 season before moving to Europe for the first time with Dutch side VVV-Venlo. He returned to the club in 2021 after he was released by Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.
His contract at Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor expired this year after spending two years there.
Abdullahi spent initial two years at Kano Pillars between 2012 and 2014 before starting his sojourn abroad. The right-back has spent close to two years without a club. He was released by Omonia Nicosia in the summer of 2022 and afterwards, had a brief stay at Bulgarian side Levski Sofia. The defender had been a free agent since January 2023.
