Former Nigerian and West African light-heavyweight champion, Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, has died after collapsing during a fight in Ghana on Saturday.
The tragic incident of Olanrewaju collapsing was captured on camera and shared in a viral video.
According to reports, Olanrewaju was up against Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena when he suddenly lost consciousness.
It was reported that the 40-year-old was ahead on points against his Ghanaian opponent before the sad incident happened.
Born in Lagos, Olanrewaju began his professional career in 2019 when he defeated Chukwuma Igwe in his first bout.
He recorded 13 wins, with 12 coming via knockouts, suffered eight defeats and had two draws.
He had lost his last four bouts going into his contest with Mbanugu on Saturday.
