Exploring his talent off the pitch, Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has released the video of his second single, ‘What’s Luv.’
Iwobi posted a short clip of the video on X on Thursday with the caption: “What’s Luv? Video out now! Link in my bio – Watch, stream, share, vibe!”
The Fulham player previously made history by becoming the first Premier League footballer to officially release a single, ‘Don’t Shoot’, which was his debut track.
In ‘What’s Luv’, the 28-year-old collaborated with close friend SPKS and up-and-coming artiste MBrown on the track which has a blend of Afro-swing mixed with rap.
In an interview, Iwobi said his musical exploits are part of his efforts to inspire people with his work off the pitch, as well as on it.
He explained that he views music as a chance to escape from the day-to-day life of a footballer and raise awareness about causes he considers to be important.
“Music has always been a passion of mine, and a way for me to express myself away from football,” he said.
“Music is a great tool, and I’ve always used it as a productive way to share how I feel. Historically no Premier League player has brought out music with their name and face attached to it, but I like to be different and make a difference.
“Growing up in an area of London that is challenging for some people, I know how hard it can be and I’m grateful to have a platform to try and make a difference.
“Alongside the work we do in the community, I hope that my music is another way of proving that young people do not have to feel they have to fit in just one box.
”I want them to be encouraged to achieve their dreams, to put their focus into positive things. Creating music doesn’t take anything away from my football, it helps me switch off.
“I will always work hard and try to improve in my sport, but this is a good use of my spare time.”
Iwobi has two goals and an assist for Fulham in nine Premier League matches this season. His club will host Brentford in the league on Monday.
