Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has said Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is fit to face Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday.
Ndidi has been absent since December 8 due to a hamstring injury, missing several important matches.
But the 28-year-old Nigeria international has trained with his teammates over the past fortnight and is close to making his return to the line-up.
“Wilf is fine,” Van Nistelrooy told reporters during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“He had a great week of training, last week and this week. He’ll be part of the squad tomorrow.”
Ndidi has made four assists in 15 English Premier League games this season and scored one goal, which was in a 4-0 win against Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup.
His return to action would be good news to the Super Eagles coaching crew ahead of next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles currently occupy fifth place after four matches in Group C.
They are four points behind Rwanda, South Africa and Benin Republic who are first, second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, Leicester would be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they take on United at Old Trafford.
The Foxes suffered a 4-0 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
