Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel remains uncertain about his future at Fenerbahce, while talks reportedly continue with the club about a contract extension.
The Nigeria international was impressive in Fenerbahce’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night, featuring for 62 minutes before limping off with an apparent injury.
In a video posted by Fanatik on Friday, Osayi-Samuel was asked by a reporter as he walked out of the stadium if he would be wearing the colours of the club next season.
“I don’t know, it’s not up to me,” he replied.
The versatile defender has been reportedly locked in negotiations with the Turkish club for months over a new deal, however, no headway has reportedly been made due to his wage demands.
The Nigeria international is said to be demanding €2.5million per-season to stay beyond next summer but Fenerbahce are unwilling to offer more than €1.8million.
If no agreement is reached between both parties, the player would have the liberty to negotiate with another club over a transfer in January 2025, as his current deal will expire next summer.
Fenerbahce are yet to confirm or reveal the extent of his latest injury. He only returned earlier this month from an injury that kept him out for a month.
