Former Turkish international Tümer Metin has identified Black Stars of Ghana defender Alexander Djiku as the player Fenerbahce should assign to stop Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in Monday’s Super Lig derby with Galatasaray.
Osimhen has been in superb scoring form since his loan move to Galatasaray, scoring 14 goals in 18 league games and 20 goals in all competitions this season, including four goals in his last five appearances.
Metin, who starred in midfield for Fenerbahce in his playing days, named Djiku as the ideal player to neutralize the threat that would be posed by Osimhen.
“If we get Osimhen from Galatasaray, he won’t be able to go to the goal right now,” he was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi.com.
“I will give Djiku to Osimhen and say ‘Wait on his back even when he goes to the edge of the pitch to drink water’.”
Galatasaray are on top of the league table, six points ahead of Fenerbahce, who have lost four of their last six meetings.
