Victor Osimhen has said Galatasaray deserved more from their UEFA Europa League tie with Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles striker was on target but Galatasaray surrendered a 3-1 lead at home to draw 3-3 with Dynamo Kyiv.
Osimhen scored from the penalty spot to put the Turkish giants 3-1 before a brace from Andriy Yarmolenko drew the Ukrainian’s level.
“We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more,” Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli, told the Galatasaray website.
“We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes. They also fought well and scored goals. There were two consecutive draws. Now we need to work and learn from our mistakes. We need to focus on the upcoming matches.”
Osimhen added that he and his colleagues needed to play more as a team.
“We need to understand each other better at certain moments. If I’m going strong, I look at who I can pass to and who I can receive the pass from,” he said.
“We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and be better.”
With just one matchday left in the league phase, Galatasaray are fifth place in the table.
Osimhen has now scored four goals in five appearances in the Europa League this season.
Also, he has netted 15 goals, bagged five assists in 19 matches in all competitions for Galatasaray.
