Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has opened up about the injury to Super Eagles defender Ola Aina in Tuesday night’s English Premier League win against Manchester United.
Forest gave their push for a top four finish a huge boost with the 1-0 victory over United at the City Ground.
The victory, however, came at a cost following injury to Aina who limped off
in the 39th minute and was replaced by Alex Moreno.
Aina’s injury came after Callum Hudson-Odoi was ruled out through a personal problem before the game. Chris Wood also missed out with a hip issue.
When asked about the injury to Aina, Espirito Santo, in his post-match interview, said: “I cannot say a lot, it’s always a concern when a player gets injured by himself.
“We will give him a scan and then see how he looks. I am not quite sure what the precise problem is. The scan will tell us more.”
On the latest on Wood and Hudson-Odoi, the Portuguese added: “We will keep monitoring Chris day by day. It’s getting better. I think we will have Callum back for the weekend, yes I hope that we will.”
Forest are third in the league table as they seek a shock return to the UEFA Champions League with a top five finish.
