Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed that Altay Bayindir will start in goal against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round tie at the Emirates on Sunday.
Bayindir replaced Andre Onana in the 4-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup and it will be the same situation this weekend against the Gunners.
Speaking at his press conference to preview the game on Friday, Amorim said:”I don’t rotate because I want to rotate, I’m trying to find the best solutions to win the game.
“I put the guys in who are more fresh to cope with the demands of the game. The goalkeeper position is different, so it’s a good question. Altay will play.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal are without Bukayo Saka, who is out with a thigh problem.
Exciting youngster Ethan Nwaneri has also joined defenders Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu on the sidelines after sustaining an injury soon after scoring in the 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Unlike in the Carabao Cup, reserve goalkeeper Neto is eligible and Raheem Sterling is available again after illness.
United would hope to replicate their impressive showing against Liverpool when they face Arsenal.
The last time both teams met was in December in the Premier League with Arsenal claiming a 2-0 win.
Also in their last meeting in the FA Cup, United recorded a 3-1 win at the Emirates in January 2019.
