Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Joseph Dosu has escaped death for a second time after a truck crushed his car in Lagos on Wednesday.
Dosu shared on Facebook on Friday a video of his automobile severely damaged by the truck conveying iron rods.
“To God be the glory, another death escape by Grace and Mercy of God, I and my friend SM was at Enyo feeling station after Ojodu Berger bus stop, to get fuel on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024 between 6pm and this MACK TRUCK with registration number LND 470 XX fully loaded with IRON left the road and crushed my car. Thank God for LIFE,” he wrote on social media.
Dosu was a member of Nigeria’s Dream Team that won gold in football at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, United States of America. He was tipped to succeed Peter Rufai as Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper after an impressive outing at the competition.
However, the goalkeeper who was then with Italian club Reggina was involved in a car accident in Lagos in 1997 after Nigeria qualified for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
The crash did significant damage to his spinal cord, ultimately ended his football career and left him needing crutches.
