Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka could be named in the squad to face Fulham in the English Premier League next week.
Meanwhile, Luke Shaw is also in contention to play for Manchester United after being out for months due to an injury.
The 23-year-old Saka has been out since December after sustaining a hamstring tear in the win at Crystal Palace which needed surgery.
Saka’s recovery schedule has gone according to plan and he is now back in full training.
However, the Gunners are continuing to be cautious with his return and will make a final decision closer to Tuesday’s match.
Barring any unexpected delay the England attacker should be available to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in April.
Manchester United defenders Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro joined Shaw in returning to training before Tuesday’s Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest.
Shaw has made only three substitute appearances in over 13 months after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
He had previously been out of with a calf problem.
Maguire has been absent with a calf problem since the FA Cup defeat by Fulham on 2 March.
Yoro had to be replaced at half-time in the Premier League draw with Arsenal on 9 March.
Neither midfielder Kobbie Mainoo nor defender Ayden Heaven were shown in the section of training that was filmed on United’s social media feed on Friday morning.
Mainoo has been missing since the beginning of February because of injury, while Heaven was pictured this week still wearing a protective boot following the injury that led to him being taken off on a stretcher at Leicester on 16 March.
Goalkeeping duo Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton were also pictured training, which should mean there is experienced cover for Andre Onana at the City Ground.
