Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi starred for Leicester City on Saturday with two assists as they drew 2-2 at Crystal Palace in their English Premier League clash.
Ndidi’s fellow Nigeria international Ola Aina was one of Nottingham Forest’s heroes as they produced the shock of the day with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland continued his incredible scoring run with a brace as Manchester City defeated Brentford 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Ndidi, who was involved in last week’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, set up Jamie Vardy with a brilliant through ball in the 21st minute and assisted <span;>Stephy Mavididi one minute after the break as Leicester City took a 2-0 lead at Selhurst Park.
However, the hosts fought back to earn a point, with Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring twice, first in the 47th minute and with an added time penalty.
At Anfield, Aina played the full 90 minutes and helped Forest secure a clean sheet from his right-back position as they secured their first win at Anfield since 1969.
Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute as Forest ended a 55-year winless streak at Anfield.
Haaland netted in the 19th and 22nd minutes to take his Premier League goals tally to nine this season as City came from behind to beat Brentford.
The Norway striker reached the nine-goal mark after just four matches, the earliest any player has scored that many goals in league history.
In other Premier League afternoon kick-offs, Ipswich earned a precious point with a 0-0 draw at Brighton, while West Ham equalised late to draw 1-1 with Fulham, who had Super Eagles pair Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey in their starting line-up.
