Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was in action for struggling Leicester who lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Sunday’s English Premier League encounter.
The Nigeria international played for 90 minutes but could not help his side avoid a sixth consecutive defeat.
The defeat leaves the Foxes in the 19th position, while Chelsea displaces Manchester City to go fourth in the league table.
Spain left-back Marc Cucurella got the only goal of the game thanks to his 60th minute strike.
The Blues had the chance to open the scoring in the 22nd minute but Cole Palmer saw his penalty saved by the Leicester keeper.
It was Palmer’s first penalty miss in his Premier League career.
Also, it would have been his first goal since January 14.
At the Vitality Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth.
The Cherries took the lead on 42 minutes through Marcus Tavernier before Evanilson added the second goal on 65 minutes.
Pape Sarr pulled a goal back for Spurs in the 67th minute before Son Heung-min completed the comeback six minutes from time from the penalty spot.
Bournemouth are now eighth and Spurs 13th in the league table.
