Enyimba have been handed tough opponents in the group phase of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
In the draw which took place in Cairo on Monday, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club were placed in Group D alongside defending champions and Egyptian giants Zamalek, and another tough opponent from the North African country, Al Masry. Black Bulls Maputo of Mozambique are the other team in the group.
In Group A, Tanzania’s Simba SC will battle CS Sfaxien, CS Constantine and Bravos do Maquis.
Group B has RS Berkane,
Stade Malien Bamako, Stellenbosch FC and Desportivo Lundavs Sul. USM Alger are favourites in Group C which has
ASEC Mimosas, Jaraaf and Orapa United.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the first group games will be played on November 28. Matchday 2 fixtures are slated for December 8, while Matchday 3 is on December 15. Matchdays 4, 5 and 6 will hold on January 5, January 12 and January 19, 2025 respectively.
