Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke returned to full training with Sevilla on Thursday after being sidelined for over two months with a hamstring injury.
Ejuke got injured in Sevilla’s LaLiga fixture against Barcelona on October 20 last year.
In a video posted on the club’s X handle on Thursday, the 27-year-old was welcomed back by his teammates with a guard of honour.
Sevilla coach Garcia Pimienta had suggested the winger would be back soon after he began light training in December.
“Ejuke could be training with us in mid-January and, if all goes well, he will participate in official matches towards the end of January or beginning of February,” the coach said.
The Nigeria international’s return provides a huge boost to the team ahead of their LaLiga home fixture against Valencia on Saturday.
Ejuke joined Sevilla on a three-year deal from CSKA Moscow last summer and became an instant hit in the Spanish top flight.
Before his injury, he had been one of his side’s standout performers, which earned him Sevilla’s Player of The Month for September.
He got rewarded for his impressive form with a call-up to the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Libya.
Sevilla are currently 14th in LaLiga with 22 points after 18 matches.
