Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers netted a hat-trick and also provided an assist in Rangers’ 5-0 win against fifth-tier club Fraserburgh in the round of 32 of the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
Clinton Nsiala and Ross McCausland were the other scorers for Rangers.
Former Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was not included in Rangers’ squad for the Cup tie.
The 30-year-old Dessers also scored in Rangers’ 3-0 win against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership in midweek.
The Nigeria international gave Rangers the lead in the 27th minute before Nsiala made it 2-0 on 52 minutes.
Dessers made it 3-0 five minutes later and set up Ross McCausland for the fourth goal on 74 minutes.
He then completed his hat-trick when he got Rangers’ fifth goal in the 90th minute.
Rangers will know their round of 16 opponents during Monday night’s draw.
The Gers have won the Scottish Cup 34 times and are the second most successful team after Celtic (42) in the history of the competition.
The last time Rangers won the Scottish Cup was in the 2021-2022 season and they lost 1-0 to Celtic in last season’s final.
