    Host Delta has emerged as the overall winner of the 8th National Youth Games tagged Asaba 2024.

    The state won the Games with 41 gold, 27 silver and 30 bronze, totalling 98 medals.

    Lagos finished second in the table with a total medal haul of 62, comprising 25 gold, 19 silver, and 18 bronze respectively.

    Edo State placed third with 17 gold, 12 silver, and 24 bronze medals to pick up a total of 53 medals.

    Bayelsa finished in fourth place with 14 gold, 17 silver and 21 bronze for a total haul of 52 medals at the youth games.

    Kwara secured 30 medals in total comprising 12 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze to finish fifth.

    Oyo placed sixth with 10 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze for a total of 25 medals.

    However, Ebonyi and Zamfara States failed to win any medal at the Games.

    The closing ceremony will be held on Thursday at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba.

    Delta also won the Games when it hosted the 7th edition last year. The state finished with 51 gold, 34 silver and 11 bronze medals.
