Club Brugge have announced the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian defender Vince Osuji from Sweden’s Kalmar FF.
The Belgian club confirmed the signing in a statement on their website on Thursday, with the deal reported to be around €3 million.
“Vince Osuji signs a contract with Blauw-Zwart until 2029,” the club said. “The Nigerian central defender comes from the Swedish club Kalmar FF.
“Osuji is an 18-year-old talent from Nigeria. The central defender played last season for the Swedish Kalmar FF, where the football season runs from April to November.
“He transferred from Cardinal Football Academy to Scandinavia in April 2024. In Sweden he scored one goal in 16 games for Kalmar FF.
“Osuji now signs a contract with Club Brugge until 2029. Welcome, Vince!”
Osuji, who is Club Brugge’s first signing of the winter transfer window, had attracted interest from top European clubs like Chelsea, KRC Genk and Ajax.
He will link up with a fellow Nigerian at the club, Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika.
