Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze scored his first goal for Milan in 15 Serie A matches on Saturday to earn his side a 1-0 victory over Udinese, who had Nigeria international Maduka Okoye in goal.
Also, Victor Osimhen scored an incredible overhead kick upon his return from injury to help Galatasaray to a 3-0 win at Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Chukwueze beat national teammate Maduka Okoye in the 13th minute of the encounter with a low curler into the bottom corner for his first goal of the season.
Noah Okafor, the Switzerland striker with Nigerian heritage, charged down the left and was allowed a lot of space to cut in and found Christian Pulisic inside the box.
Pulisic unselfishly laid the ball to the path of Chukwueze to finish off a brilliant team move.
The last time the 25-year-old found the back of the net for the Rossoneri in the league was back in March against Hellas Verona.
Milan were reduced to 10 men in the 29th minute when Tijjani Reijnders was shown a red card for taking down Sandi Lovric, who was clear on goal.
The visitors thought they had taken a point from San Siro in the 97th minute but the VAR cut short their celebrations as Christian Kabasele was adjudged to be offside.
In the end, Milan held on for the win, courtesy of the strike by the Nigeria international.
Osimhen, who missed Galatasaray’s win over Alanyaspor before the international break due to a muscle problem, replaced Mauro Icardi in the 72nd minute of the club’s win.
He put his name on the scoresheet in the 92nd minute to continue his scoring form in Turkey.
The Napoli loanee now has three goals and four assists in his first five games for the club.
He missed Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Libya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying game in Uyo on October 11, due to the injury.
