Manchester United could not build on their recent impressive results as they fell to a 3-1 English Premier League defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma and substitute Georginio Rutter struck for the visitors as they secured a third straight league win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Minteh gave Brighton the lead just five minutes into the game but Bruno Fernandes drew United level on 23 minutes from the penalty spot.
Joao Pedro thought he had restored Brighton’s lead on 53 minutes but his goal was disallowed by VAR.
The disallowed goal did not discourage Brighton as Mitoma put them 2-1 ahead on 60 minutes.
Rutter sealed the win for the visitors after adding the third goal on 76 minutes.
Brighton moved up to ninth place in the table, while United are 13th.

Also, Manchester United have suffered their sixth home Premier League defeat of the season, their most from their opening 12 home matches of a league season since 1893-94 (7), according to Opta statistics.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu scored his first-ever goal for Southampton, which was not enough as the Saints lost 3-2 away to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.
Onuachu’s fellow Nigeria international Joe Aribo was also in action for relegation-threatened Southampton.
Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were in action for Forest with the former getting an assist.
Elliot Anderson opened the scoring for Forest in the 11th minute before Callum Hudson-Odoi made it 2-0 on 28 minutes.
Chris Wood added the third goal for Forest on 41 minutes off an an assist from Aina.
Southampton pulled a goal back in the 60th minute through Jan Bednarek.
Onuachu made it 3-2 in stoppage time but Forest held on to claim the three points.
The defeat leaves Southampton rooted to bottom spot in the league table on six points, while Forest are tied on points with second-placed Arsenal but are behind the Gunners on goals difference.
Also on Sunday, Everton edged out Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 at Goodison Park.
Spurs have now lost their last three Premier League games.
