Super Eagles and Kano Pillars star Ahmed Musa handed out N200,000 to workers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo after they celebrated him on his birthday on Monday.
Musa was in action for Kano Pillars at the stadium on Sunday when they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Akwa United on matchday 6 of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The wide forward recently rejoined the club for his third stint after becoming a free agent in the summer.
In a video posted to X by Kano Pillars, staff working at the facility gathered to sing a birthday song to Musa after his team completed a training session on one of the pitches.
“We are the stadium workers here, so we came to celebrate with you, we maintain the pitches, inside and outside and take care of the environment. Since today is your birthday, we said we should come and share it with you,” the leader of the group said.
The forward expressed gratitude for their thoughtfulness.
“Thank you very much, I really appreciate. I’ve never seen you guys face-to-face despite playing here for how many years. On behalf of myself and my family, I really appreciate and I’m going to give you a token of N200,000,” he stated, leading to a loud cheers among the workers.
The former Leicester City star turned 32 on Monday, and is the Super Eagles’ most capped player with 110 appearances.
