Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi netted his first goal in the English Premier League this season to help Nottingham Forest beat Wolves 3-0 at Molineux on Monday night.
Awoniyi eventually opened his goals account in the league this season after coming on in the 88th minute for his 15th appearance.
Also in action for Forest was another Nigeria international, Ola Aina, who made his 20th league appearance for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Forest continued their impressive form as they picked up their sixth straight win in the English top flight.
The victory means Forest remain in third place, and are tied on 40 points with second-placed Arsenal in the league table.
Also, they are now six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.
Forest got off to a good start as they took the lead just seven minutes into the game courtesy of Morgan Gibbs-White.
Chris Wood made it 2-0 one minute before half-time and Awoniyi added the third goal four minutes into stoppage time.
With his goal Wood, who has replaced as Forest’s first-choice striker, took his tally in the league this season to an impressive 12 in 20 games.
Up next for Forest is a home game against Luton Town in the FA Cup.
They will return to Premier League action with a tough home clash against Liverpool.
