AS Roma Ladies have announced the signing of Falconets defender Shukurat Oladipo from Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) club FC Robo Queens.
The Italian club confirmed the signing on on Tuesday, stating: “AS Roma is thrilled to announce the signing of Shukurat Damilola Oladipo.
“The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract that runs until 30 June 2027.
“Shukurat heads to Rome from Robo FC, where she made 178 appearances for the Nigerian outfit. She took part in the U-20 Women’s World Cup and has two senior international caps to her name.
“Welcome to Roma, Shukurat!”
Speaking after completing her move to Roma, Oladipo expressed her delight joining a big Italian club.
“I am very happy, I feel so excited. It’s an opportunity for me to be part of this big team here at AS Roma,” the 20-year-old said.
“Coming to Italy and playing for AS Roma is a life-changing experience for me and it will help my career to grow and also me as a person.”
On her target, she said: “My target is to help the team to achieve the objective and plan for the season and also to improve as a player.”
Oladipo featured in all of the Falconets’ matches at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia as the team reached the round of 16.
She was also in action in the Super Falcons’ 2-1 defeat to France in an international friendly last November coming on as a late substitute.
