Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare was on target as Genk thrashed Gent 4-0 in their first game of the Belgian Pro League Championship round on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international has now scored 18 goals with five assists in 31 appearances for Genk this season.
Arokodare scored in the 50th minute to put Genk 2-0 ahead and was replaced with 20 minutes left on the clock.
His Nigerian teammate at Genk, Yira Sor, was also in action as he came on with one minute left in the game for his 15th league match (he has one goal).
Super Eagles defender Jordan Torunarigha also featured, playing the full 90 minutes for Gent in his 24th league appearance.
Genk lead the six-team Championship round, followed by Club Brugge.
In the Czech Liga, Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi netted twice to help Viktoria Plzen defeat Sparta Prague 4-2 away.
Aside from getting on the score sheet, Durosinmi also provided an assist for Viktoria’s fourth goal.
The 22-year-old has taken his tally to four goals and one assist in eight league matches.
He netted in the 37th minute to put his side 2-1 ahead and scored again in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1.
Then in the 61st minute, Durosinmi set up Mateo Vydra who brought the score to 4-2.
Viktoria Plzen moved up to third position in the league standing.
Also on Sunday and in the French Ligue 1, Super Eagles winger Moses Simon scored for Nantes as they lost 3-2 at Le Havre.
Simon now has seven goals and eight assists in 25 league appearances for Nantes this season.
Simon got on the score sheet with three minutes into the second half to level the score at 2-2.
But an 88th minute goal from Timothy Pembele sealed the win for Le Havre.
Nantes are 13th in the table, three points clear of the relegation play-offs and seven points from the drop zone.
In another Ligue 1 encounter on Sunday, Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho played for 90 minutes as his Auxerre side edged out Montpellier 1-0.
